Principle
A knowledge system becomes discoverable, reusable, citable, and defensible when every important object has a permanent address.
Definition
The Addressability Principle™ is the foundational law of the Lens Knowledge Addressing System™ (LKAS™). It states that AI systems can only reliably retrieve, cite, connect, and recommend knowledge objects that are persistent, structured, and uniquely identifiable. Unaddressed intelligence disappears. Addressed intelligence compounds.
Operating Law
Unaddressed intelligence disappears. Addressed intelligence compounds. Every Lens Analysis™, principle, blueprint, scorecard, evidence item, decision, relationship, and opportunity shall have a permanent identity, canonical URL, structured metadata, machine-readable JSON, JSON-LD, version history, provenance, and explicit relationships.
Implications
- 1.LKAS™ Object Types: Opportunity (OID™), Principle (PID™), Blueprint (BID™), Scorecard (SID™), Atlas Node (AID™), Relationship (RID™), Evidence (EID™), Decision (DID™), Transformation Event (TID™).
- 2.The Lens URI Standard™ provides semantic addresses for all objects: lens://principles/transformation-capacity, lens://opportunities/INTC/TCA/2026/001, lens://constitution/book1/article12.
- 3.Every knowledge object should include: permanent ID, canonical URL, Lens URI, machine-readable JSON, JSON-LD schema, citation block, related objects, version history, and trust/confidence metadata.
- 4.LKAS™ turns The Lens™ from a publishing site into a Transformation Knowledge Infrastructure™ — not just findable, but computable.
- 5.AI systems can traverse LKAS™ objects to answer: What does this analysis depend on? Which principles support this opportunity? What evidence supports this scorecard? Which opportunities share the same transformation pattern?
Typed Relationships
Extends Transformation Capacity™ by requiring all capacity objects to be addressable
Addressability enables Knowledge Compounding
Implements the Intermediary Systems Principle™ at the knowledge infrastructure layer
