Lens Ontology Principle™

Principle

Every enterprise concept shall be represented by six inseparable dimensions: Semantic Meaning, Authority, Evidence, Accountability, Decision Rights, and Value. No enterprise object shall be considered fully represented until all six dimensions have been defined. A decision shall not be considered organizationally complete unless it can answer: What does it mean? Who defines it? What evidence supports it? Who owns the outcome? Who may decide? How is value measured?

Definition

The Lens Ontology™ organizes organizational intelligence — not merely knowledge. Its purpose is to ensure that enterprise intelligence remains explainable, measurable, governable, and continuously connected to value creation. Every enterprise object represented within The Lens™ shall contain six connected components: Semantic Definition (what is this?), Authority (who has the authority to define reality?), Evidence (why should this be trusted?), Accountability (who owns the outcome?), Decision Rights (who may decide?), and Value (why does this matter?). These components form the minimum viable representation of enterprise intelligence.

Operating Law

The First Law of Enterprise Intelligence: Meaning without authority creates ambiguity. Authority without evidence creates opinion. Evidence without accountability creates inaction. Accountability without decision rights creates paralysis. Decision rights without value create bureaucracy. Only when meaning, authority, evidence, accountability, decision rights, and value are unified does organizational intelligence become measurable, explainable, and capable of compounding over time.
